History - Villa Bellezza Dubrovnik
During the age of the Dubrovnik Republic, from the 14th to 16th centuries, summer residences were centres of social life, where nobility gathered to read and create the art, literature, philosophy and culture of the Dubrovnik Renaissance. The summer residence of the Jordan-Sorkočević family is known for the artistic and intellectual discussions about love and beauty which the Dubrovnik nobility often conducted in this magnificent garden, which has been preserved to the present day in its original condition.
Although the summer residence was almost completely destroyed in the 19th century, the current owners, the Prusina family, have managed with extraordinary effort, to restore it to nearly its original condition. They have followed strict standards of conservation in created a luxury villa with a Renaissance garden in Dubrovnik, a protected cultural artefact of the Republic of Croatia.
